Need a few days abroad - any ideas?

DP and I need a few days away, with our almost 1 year old DD (on sunday).

We have had a very tough year, two bereavements, family stress, new parenthood, work problems, wedding planning.

We have come out the other side but its all been a bit much and we need just a few days respite. So, for my 30th birthday in two weeks, I want us to go away as a family, just get some space, change of scenery, freshen ourselves up in readiness for our wedding in Sept.

Any ideas on where to go? two-three days is good. Recommendations of locations/accommodation etc would be great. Somewhere were we dont have to do very much in terms of travelling to/from places, getting there, organising things, that kind of thing.

Budget - well, reasonable.

Ideally abroad, but if someone has a nice log cabin they wish to rent to us cheap, that would be nice too!

What sort of budget are you on? Are you looking for UK or abroad? If abroad, maybe start with Easyjet or similar and see where you can get to cheaply. Malaga or somewhere similar is cheap. If UK, where are you and how far do you want to go? Car or train?
