Passport due to expire in 6months. Can DP use it?

We want to go away in July. DP's passport expires in Dec. Can we go to Europe for a few days? I recall him having to have 6 months left on it when we went to USA, is this just for specific international countries, or does it apply to all foreign travel?

I'm pretty certain that Europe is okay, I think dh travelled to France with only a couple of days left on his passport.

i think i'd be a bit nervous, it's a bit of a con in my opinion but more and more countries are insisting on having 6 months left, although you can renew it and have up to 9 months added on. i'd try and find some official advice if i were you (passport agency website?)

EU countries should be fine . Otherwise check individual requirements.

EU would be fine...

i dont think you even need a passport as such... photo ID like a driving license should be fine as well.

My sister travlled to france with just a few weeks left on her passport and all was fine...
