that's it really. have the choice between apartment on zakynthos (we have stayed there before) which is nice, small and no pool, but near a really lovely beach, or villa on its own near santa barbara de nexe in the algarve, with own pool and big gardens. slightly freaked about fact that pool is not gated but according to owner it has a low (18 in.) wall around it so toddler, who is water-obsessed, cannot just plop in. also slightly freaked about algarve as a general proposition, given mccann case and fact that villa is off the beaten track. but it looks beautiful, much bigger and more comfortable than the apartment in zakynthos. what to do?
