Hi there
I know there is another thread on this but specifically interested in ;

  • Savannah Beach
  • Crystal Cove

I know Crystal Cove is "posher" but my dilemma is 10 days at Savannah or 7 at Crystal. Reading quite mixed reviews on both to be honest. Main concern is the pool - both seem small?

Views welcome! Thanks!

Crystal Cove has 3 pools - they aren’t massive (one is v small) but when we were there in August they weren’t cramped. They are big enough for the 4 of us to play catch in.

I haven't stayed at either but I would go for Crystal Cove as I think it's a much better class hotel and as a rule the west coast beaches are better and calmer than those on the south coast.

I've not stayed at either but have stayed in the same areas. The west coast is so much nicer than the south. The south is a bit of a party destination, esp St Lawrence Gap which isn't at all far from Savannah Beach.

West Coast you'd be close to Holetown which is great for evening entertainment and shopping, both traditional and designer. There's also a medical centre and supermarket for any essentials you might need.

I go to Barbados every year and it is a travesty to go All Inclusive especially on the West Coast where there are so many amazing restaurants plus you don’t get a private beach as they are all public and quite rightly so. The West Coast is so much nicer than the South in terms of beaches and restaurants.

I have stayed at the savannah and unless it's cheap I wouldn't recommend. I see some weeks at £4000 and I would be devastated if I'd paid that and stayed there. Even 2.5k and I'd be very sad. Personally I would rather do self catering at The infinity and spend the saving on food and drink.

You cannot swim in any pool at the savannah, the main pool is small, the lazy river is shallow.

The lunches are fantastic, the evening food isn't great. The staff are hit and miss. Overall the drinks are good.

I do agree with pp that AI does stop you seeing this beautiful island, but the exchange rate has made this destination really expensive. Like everywhere you can get cheap and expensive.

Make sure you venture out. Jump on the buses and/or hire a car.
