Me and DP have booked to go to Iceland for 4 nights at the end of the month. We have already booked a northern lights tour and a golden circle tour to see the Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysers and Thingvellir National Park but just wondered if anyone had any must do activities/excursions while we were there or any tips or advice in general? What sort of things are you interested in?

But as a starter for you to look into, if you are up for a long day look at a day tour to Jokulsarlon - the glacier lagoon, which is just beautiful. Its a full day, approx 14 hours, but you do have stops at sights on the south coast en route which breaks the day up (you can also do this as a 2 day tour). If a long day is too much for you, look at south coast day tours (they go as far as Vik, taking in 2 waterfalls and a black sand beach). Some south coast tours offer a glacier hike too if you fancy trying that.

Another good (long) day tour is to the Snaefellsness Peninsular, which some operators also combine with a lava cave visit (Vatnshellir).

The Blue Lagoon was amazing. I would go back just to go there.
