Channel Islands in April?

Hello, any tips on visiting the Channel Islands in April? Is the weather ok (I know it won’t be warm)? We’re in Cambridge with 11yo DD, is flying better than the ferry? Is 10 days too much or too little to visit all the islands, and how would you budget your time?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Bump

Or is any travel so soon after Brexit not advisable?

Hi.

Brexit is one thing but there will be free movement between the UK and Channel Islands so beyond general transport chaos there won't be an issue. But I'm sure you knew that.

The Channel Islands are in general slightly warmer than the UK (although as small islands more prone to wind) but broadly similar in climate, so April is likely to be decent weather but not sunbathing weather. No guarantees of course.

It's not as easy to travel between the islands as it should be. Jersey has the most competitive flight prices as it has EasyJet services as well as BA and FlyBe. From there you can fly to Guernsey or get a ferry. Flights can be expensive. Ferries to Herm and Sark go from Guernsey. There are also some direct services run by very small operators from Jersey.

There's quite a lot to see and do on the islands, although mostly it you're outdoor types, so ten days would work. Do camp on Herm if you go - it has a Clear Skies (think it's called that) status and the stars are amazing. I think you can get the camping gear there rather than take it.
