ok, so we're vaguley thinking about taking our 3yr old and our 8mth old to majorca (puerto pollensa) for a week in sept - still not sure if this is a brilliant idea or a terrible one! Anyone done it? was it good or bad?

However, i have no idea about what to take with us. Do i need to take our travel cot? What do I do about sterlisiing bottles and taking formula (or will i have stopped sterilising by then? i can't remember) and will I be ok to take my little mothercare buggy rather than my huge mamas and papas one? and when we go to beach, what will 8mth old sit on? It all seems so complicated but know loads of people do it.

Also, if i take travel cot and buggy how on earth do we carry all our stuff in airport - 2 suitcases, travel cot, buggy and 2 small children? I take it I don't take the carseat and baby just sits on my knee for plane and coach transfer?

Help help help...is this just a stupid idea?

thanks

We went to Puerto Pollenca with Msy with our (then) 5 month old ds - it was fab!!!

We took our own formula and took those sterilizing bags that go in the microwave - you can get them from Mothercare or Boots. We took a stroller that the seat reclines flat in, and ds napped in that during the day and on teh beach. The rest of the time on the beach, we dug him a little 'pit' and lined it with a towel ( he couldn't sit up then) and he loved it.

I had him on my knee for the flight and coach transfers - not ideal in the coach, but seemed to be no alternative.

We stayed in the Playa Mar, a hotel with apartments if that makes sense, so we had a fridge, microwave, sink and hob. They provided a cot and bedding.I'd really recommend that hotel if you haven't got anywhere yet - we booked through Thompson and it was lovely.

At the airport, keep dc in buggy till the last minute, until you actually board the plane. Get DH yto get a trolley and load all your luggage onto that.

It's NOT a stupid idea - we had a great time so be brave and go for it!!!

you certainly wont need a steriliser

and you could maybe get accomodation that provide a cot, just take a couple of cotsheets

buy a cheap very very light buggy htat reclines
