Paris not the big tourist attractions

I’m going to Paris early March with friends. I lived in Paris 20+ years ago and went a few years ago with dh and ds and did all of the main attractions again. So I’m lookong for ideas for good touristy things to do with friends (one of whom has never been) while avoiding Notre Dame, sacre coeur, Eiffel Tower, arc de triomphe etc. Happy to go and see/go past those but don’t really want to queue to go in/up them.

Have your friends also done Paris before?

Sorry posted too quick, the one that hasn't been, does she want to do the tourist things or not bothered?

Pere Lachaise is one of my favourite places in Paris.

Tour Montparnasse is also good for the panoramic views over the city without the crowds of the Eiffel Tower.

yy I love Pere lachaise. Also sainte chappelle is lovely. Jardin du Luxembourg is nice for a sit down in the park. 6ieme in general good for wandering around and pretending you are Simone de Beauvoir.

yes I've been told that about tour montparnasse, also you can see the Eiffel Tower! I like riding about on the buses and seeing the sights that way too.

Following a recommendation on Mumsnet we went to Montparnasse tower at dusk to see the Eiffel Tower lit up... had a drink and admired the views across the city.
We also went to see the Waterlillies without any queues at all.

We've been to Paris many times and did the big sights when we were child-free. Since then, we've hit a lot of the smaller museums and wandered around other areas of the city. The Musee Marmottan is good, the Musee Rodin, the Jeu de Paume, Orangerie, Tour Montparnasse you get a good view over the city (and of the Eiffel Tower), without the queues and onerous security, Sainte Chapelle is beautiful, Montmartre is lovely for a wander out of season (which early March is), and what about going to the Paris Opera? We got some tickets on the same day once for a few euros. They were up in the gods, but we got a decent view and the atmosphere of the place.
