Having been to Germany and Austria for a few summers, my DH and I are wondering about venturing to Slovenia this year. We have travelled with TUI, Lakes and Mountains, - liking the easiness of travel, transfers etc - and would welcome any thoughts about those of you who have been to this country.

We stayed in Lake Bled 3 years ago. Absolutely beautiful, loads to do, great transport links for getting out and about. Lots of walking, great food and friendly people. We also loved Germany and Austria, so on that basis I think you should seriously consider it.

Visited Slovenia in 2011. Absolutely loved it, I'd definitely go back again if I could afford a holiday. Ljubljana has to be one of the nicest European capitals around.

Amazonian27 if you don't mind me asking..where do you stay in Portugal ?

@bitofabelly-Love your name by the way. We have stayed in private let’s in Alvor and Carvoeiro and more recently Olhos De Agua with Jet2. Almost thinking of going going back there again as it worked really well if I can’t find an alternative that suits us all
on budget. Can you recommend me anywhere bitofabelly?
