Puerto Pollensa or Cala D'or

Looking to travel to Majorca with an 11yo and a 4yo. Have never been to either places.

Have read nothing but good things about Puerto Pollensa. The only thing that's putting me off is that there might not be enough to do for the 11 year old.

We've found two hotels that potentially look good.

Hotel in Pollensa is the Bahia, which seems quite small, quiet, good reviews.

Hotel in Cala D'or is the Esmerelda, seems like there more hotel 'entertainment' but reading that the resort is a lot more commercialised.

There are 2 hotels called Bahia in Puerto Pollensa. Hotel Bahia is on the Pine Walk, v small no pool but right on the beach. Aparthotel Bahia Pollensa is further out but more suitable for families. I’d also recommend you look at the Flora Aparthotel, Villa Concha and Puerto Azul as they are more family oriented. We’re returning with my 10 year old DD and stay at the Puerto Azul. There’s plenty going on round the pool during the day and wherever we’ve stayed, the children all tend to make friends which prevents boredom.

Thanks or replying. I was looking at the Aparthotel Bahia. It looked pretty good and was reasonably priced, however I've been a little put off by some of the reviews saying that the pool is very deep with the shallow end being 5foot deep.

I'm now looking at the Azul and Villa Concha, they are a bit more money but look a bit more family friendly.

They are more expensive. This will be year no 5 at the Azul for us. It is perfect for families and that’s why we keep going back. There are 3 pools, it’s not too big and there’s only one entrance/exit so feels very safe.

Five minutes walk to the main square and the beach, so the location is also ideal. The one drawback is that it’s half board only and there are no other options.
