Where can we go in the February half term?

I have promised my 9 year old DD that we will have a "girls" break at half term. She doesn't want to go to Spain because we always go there (family connections) but we haven't been to Canary Islands and I have kind of convinced her that they are different from the mainland Spain. Still she says she wants to visit somewhere different (Paris!) but I am worried in February it might be dull and cold in other parts of Europe.
So, any ideas or experiences?

Budget about £2000- absolute max.

Thank you!

Paris would still be lovely - lots of cultural museums , Eiffel Tower , science museum , day trip to Disneyland , cafes people watching or how about skiing ?

We don't skii, I tried and didn't like it and she is not keen on trying.

I think I am trying to avoid Disneyland! but maybe that is the option... i personally fancy warmth and rest (we have a very active toddler at home that we are kind of having a break from)

Lanzarote was cold when we went in February half term. Cheap though cost us less than a grand for 4 for a week including car hire.

Thanks for the replies.

It's not cheap during half term and from where we live, that is why I am seriously considering something else.
I have looked into Tenerife too, which is slightly warmer, apparently.

Cyprus? Dubai? Morocco - Marrakesh? New York (but will be freezing), Jordan (will be cold st night), South Africa will be lovely in February and very little jet lag too although it's a 10 hour flight.

I am not confident to travel far on my own with a child, but we will as a family when the toddler grows up.

Venice will be beautiful in February. Cheap flights from London and if you book an apartment just outside St Marks Square you could bag a bargain.

Cheap depends on where you look and how you travel. If you can be arsed to do some leg work you can do loads with two grand.

Kione · 28/12/2018 12:45

oooh Venice! That sounds good...

My leg work is not a problem but I rather not have to drag a vingey 9 year old since we are trying to have a relaxed time.

We went to Rome last Feb half term and weather was lovely - t shirt weather one day!

PandaMa · 28/12/2018 12:45

I'd agree with you on the Canary Islands, Tenerife is fab for relaxing but I think you could tempt her by showing her the waterpark they have there?

Kione · 28/12/2018 12:59

We did Rome before DS was born, the 3 of us, was brilliant but quite cold! We WILL go back there when DD is bigger because we loved it.

She is now quite agreeable to Tenerife, but it's me thinking it twice seeing the high prices...
