Affordable Winter sun?

Considering heading somewhere with family for some winter sun in February.

What's the most affordable way to do this? Even sun packages are coming in at 500 per person!

I've never gone anywhere that time of year either, would Tenerife be a good option? Cheers

Not for the sun. February in Tenerife is likely to be rainy or chilly.
The cheapest winter sun might be Egypt.

£500 pp sounds about average, even on the low side if AI, HB and/or half term. We have been to the Canaries for about £200 pp but that was for a couple in a one bed self catering apartment, so food on top, outside school holidays and mega cheap flights (£40 return) that probably don't exist in the school holidays.

Canaries are hit and miss at that time of year weatherwise. Egypt or Cape Verde should be good for weather and might work out cheaper but you pretty much have to do the 'AI hotel which you hardly ever leave' holiday. If you don't want that, Lanzarote would be a good choice as there's plenty of interesting stuff to do if the weather isn't perfect.

Anything in the Jet2holidays deals section? If you're flexible about where you go, you might get a bargain. I would go self catering or B&B so you can eat out and prepare easy food, rather than rely on an AI buffet that might not be very nice.
