Is there a summer equivalent of a skiing / half board holiday - something special for 2019

DP and I are getting married next summer, after years together and two DC.

So we'd like something a bit special for our family holiday next summer.

Any ideas please along these lines?

  • France or Italy, alps, haute provence, the lakes - we will spend the second week with family on the French riviera so it needs to be an ok drive to there.
  • would love somewhere the kids and just jump in the pool and we don't have to 'pack up' to get to the pool (so maybe a catered villa?)
  • we've been skiing a few times and love that the chalet set up where the effort of planning and cooking is done for you
  • We love the alps in summer- but I can't find anywhere on the half board basis of winter holidays. And pools hard to find - the kids love to swim!

Is this the sort of place you're after? www.pierreetvacances.com/gb-en/fp_VNL_self-catering-valmeinier-thabor?season=SUMMER&hc=VNL15&duree=2&dated=2019-07-28&nba=2&nbc=0&nbb=0#page
Pierre Vacances has lots of other similar if this particular one doesn't appeal.

What is your budget? Catered villas tend to be pretty pricey but Scott Dunn are the best. They definitely do France.

Chilly Powder in Morzine? Have just recommended on another thread. No pool (but hot tub with a view). Food amazing. Hiking/biking great.

Villa Pia in Italy?
