Could do with a translation for "my child has a nut allergy, does this food have nuts in it?" Also, although I hope we won't need it, for "call an ambulance - quickly please."

Sorry, don't speak Bulgarian, but might be worth sending an email to the Bulgarian Embassy in London, if there's still time? Not holding out much hope that they'll respond, but worth an email? www.bulgarianembassy-london.org/ then "contact us".

I have asked my friend's OH - will let you know what she comes back with

tatt · 27/06/2007 11:24

Thank you all, it's very kind of you.

I gather a lot of German is spoken in the place we're visiting so we'll have German translations with us.

I am grateful that you tried, I really appreciate the attempt. Have also tried the bulgrian embasay but I expect there will be the same problem.

Bulgarian Embassay sent me a translation - phonetic in our script and an attachment in theirs. I love Bulgarians already.

Glad you got it, my friend only just replied..

it's pronounced like it is written.

"my child has a nut allergy, does this food have nuts in it?" =
"moeto dete ima alerghia kam yadki, v'tazi hrana ima li yadki?"

"call an ambulance - quickly please." =
"izvikaite speshna pomosht - beurzo molia"

Hope you have a good trip

It was very good of you to ask your friend. I've found a few helpful phrases on the net but our needs are a bit specialist for most phrase books.
