NYC Easter - hotel or AirBNB reccies please!

We're planning a NYC Easter break with our 2 early-20s kids. Currently thinking of 3 nights central Manhattan, 2 nights Brooklyn, but could be the other way round, and I can't decide where to stay.

I've been to NYC many times for work, and we lived not far from NYC for 2 years, but am a bit out of touch, particularly for Brooklyn /Williamsburg. Last family visit was about 8 years ago, when kids were too young to experience the city at night, I'm expecting them to do their own thing in the evening (once we've paid for dinner), and we like museums, art etc.
Any great recent experiences/suggestions? Thanks very much.

Avoid all Airbnb rentals because all short term lets are illegal in the five boroughs, You will need hotel accommodation.

Why are you considering Brooklyn at all?. Would spend all five days on Manhattan.

Your adult children may want to check out and book tickets for The Ride.

The reason for wanting to stay in Brooklyn is I'd heard it's hip and happening! Thanks for the tip on the Ride.

They make money from doing so. They also do not check the veracity of such listings.
