Croatia - multi centre

We are thinking of Croatia next year in July and like the idea of visiting 2-3 different places for 4-6 nights each. Happy to DIY but not sure where to start! Well get a car and kids will be 7 and 5.

Any tips or advice most welcome!

We got married in Porec last August - my two nephews (aged 3 and 1) came and they had a fab time. We stayed at the Isabella hotel on the little island.

I've also been to Rovinj (very beautiful - a small arty town with cobbled streets, quite hilly) and in June DH and I went to Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik is ok - once you've done everything that's it. It's extremely touristy - we much preferred Porec. We have also stayed in Pula - a lovely Roman city - we stayed in the park plaza Histria nearby - loads of stuff for children there.

We want to go back to Croatia and go to Rijeka and Krk but I'm pregnant (12 weeks today!) So plans are on hold!!

Big fan of Croatia - we have visited Rovinj too and stayed at the Hotel Lone which we really loved (also stayed in the same hotel as Laura in Pula - but wasnt overwhelmed by Pula itself). Korcula is amazing and you can do Split - Korcula - Cavtat spending 4/5 days in each (Cavtat is lovely and a great base for exploring both Dubrovnik and even going into Montenegro)...probably wouldn't need a car for the whole holiday because you can catch the Catermaran from Split to Korcula and then the Catermaran from Korcula to Dubrovnik - where it may be worth hiring a car if you want to zip over the border to Montenegro.
