I am from a large extended family and we always either invite friends/family to visit us on holiday or go with them...it works well as we have 4 young children and they have a ball with their friends and cousins...but wondering if as a family unit we would gain from going away just the 6 of us??..the couple of times we have done this it has been harder work, more pressurized, a bit stressy, a bit dull if I am honest -- does this say somethng about us not being a "proper family"... ?...should we be able to enjoy ourselves more on our own?..
