Insect repellant for a baby - what to use?

Going to Sardinia next month with my 10 month old.

Have shade a babe for his pram which also protects against mosquitos but he doesn't like being behind it much.

Remember using citronella bracelets for dd but don't think this is enough for protection in Sardinia.

Can I use citronella spray or will it cause a skin reaction - he has slight excema and is pale/blue eyed sensitive skin?

I looked in Boots and everything seemed to be recommended for over 2's only.

They must use something themselves abroad - am I best to buy it there?

you could try This but don't know how effective it is.

I have the lionheart thing but not that effective. I buy citronella and geranium ( geranio)cream its made by SELLA it stinks but it sort of works. Then when dd asleep I take Autan Family spray and spray in muslin square and tie on cot. ( both available from Farmacia in Italy) For after bite I use CIDERMA it is calendula . BUt I also use boots after bite cream as find it is actually more effective if you slap on bite asap.
Forget the CHicco ultrasound thing and the afterbite pen by Chicco they are rubbish.

Boots definitely do a repellent that is suitable for babies. We took dd2 away when she was only 6 weeks old. We were staying by a lake in Hungary and I knew that there were going to be tons of mosquitos. I can't remember what it was called though, but I do remember putting the lotion on. Try a bigger boots store.

Have a good holiday.
