Broadway tickets

As previously discussed on here, I am off to NY for new year. What is the best thing to do about Broadway tickets? Best website or buy them there on the day at a stand??? Any suggestions?

if you know what show you want to go to and dont want to take the chance of not getting ticket then book in advance but the tkts stand in time square is queued for ages we found the one at the lincoln centre was a lot quieter

Or go directly to the theatre for a specific show if you know what you want to see - they normally have rush seats on the morning. We got 4 x $200 seats for 50$ each doing that!
