Airport transfers with a baby

Hi! I’m going to Tenerife in March when my baby will be 6 months old. Our resort package includes a coach transfer from/to the airport but I’m worried about how safe this will be? We’re not hiring a car so weren’t planning on taking the car seat and we wouldn’t necessarily be able to strap it into coach anyway. Do people just hold their babies?? That seems so unsafe to me but not really sure what the other option is. Thanks!

We had similar years ago and I really didn’t know what to do. No way was I going to hold my baby.

I ended up having her in a carrier with the seatbelt around ME (not both of us) IYSWIM. It seemed like the best of a number of bad options.

It’s a very difficult situation, isn’t it. We use a carrier. My husband puts his seatbelt on, then the baby in the carrier on top of it. Apparently it’s safer this way than putting the child in the carrier and then the seatbelt around you both. Something to do with inertia.

Oh sorry we were in a minivan, not coach.
