Hi,

Received an email from Tui to say our flight has been cancelled for a holiday 7 months away as a nessesary change and will not be flying out of the same airport. Please see below.
Does anyone know where we stand on getting refunded ? There are 8 of us some going for a week some going for a fortnight and important dates either side so we cannot go on a different date even if we wanted too

There are a number of flights to your destination from other UK airports which you can amend to without incurring the amendment fees. This is providing that your selected flight departs four days either side of your original departure date and your original accommodation and room type is available. Please note, we will take into account the original package price that you have paid and on this occasion we will be covering the additional cost or refunding the difference in holiday costs to yourself subject to the above criteria.

Can you get them to pay for a hotel near to another airport? Or a taxi to the airport? Seems a shame to cancel.

They're not saying you have to go on a different date, just that you have to fly from a different starting point. Where was the original flight departing from?

4non let's hope this doesn't happen to you ever heaven forbid we had a deadline to decide what we wanted to do and 4 different couples take abit of organising 👍🏻

But what is there that needs organising? Choose a different airport and they’ll usually provide transport to the airport. You don’t need to cancel the whole thing Confused

Hi @mrssunshinexxx, You're entitled to a full refund if you're not satisfied with the options you're given if they're unreasonable - but the get out clauses may be in the word "unreasonable".
Did you pay an ATOL fee and get travel insurance?

If you're not happy with their response, please send me the relevant information and I'll check with our legal and commercial team here at Travel Counsellors next week and let you know what your rights are (don't worry, there's no catch / fee).
