Cape Verde in October - anyone been?

I'm looking for a holiday destination for the October half term next year. We went to Cyprus this year and it just wasn't hot enough for my liking!

I was considering Egypt, but I always get an upset stomach when we go there, so then started to think about Cape Verde. But when I checked the weather info, it seems that October is at the end of the rainy season.

Has anyone been to Cape Verde in October and can tell me just how rainy is "rainy"? Average weather graphs tell me they expect 33mm of rain in Oct, but that doesn't really mean much to me.

Not October but I went a couple of years ago at the beginning of November and it didn't rain at all. Hot and sunny most days, a couple of cloudier ones. One of the hotel workers told me it doesn't rain often there.

I'd also go somewhere in the Canaries. There's not much to do in Cape Verde except whatever is on offer in the AI hotels, whereas there's loads on offer in the Canaries.
