First time going abroad as a single parent

Hi there.
This is my first ever post so please be easy on me lol. I am a single parent of an active 8 year old and really want to get up the courage to take him away to the canaries in Febuary. We are both due a well earned holiday. I can t really afford to go on a single perants pre organised holiday as they seem to cost around £2000 and I ve only got around £1000 to spend. Its took me a while to save this as on my own and really don't want to waste it booking the wrong place. I am worried we will get somewhere and feel isolated and just be the two of us sitting around the pool. I do suffer a bit from anxiety as it is and I am wondering if its worth the worry or just to go for it. Just wondered if anyone knew of a good hotel to stay at that's a reasonable and if there is any forums where you could maybe meet other perants that want a group of people to go with, that would be a bit cheaper than all the ones I can find. Thanks in advance xx
