Children and coach transfer

We're going on holiday for the first time in years and the first time with a child. Do we need to take a car seat for our 4 year old to travel (by coach) from the airport to the hotel? What if there are no seat belts? Do I sit my LO on my lap? I'm clueless.

I've never taken a car seat on holiday. The coaches tend to have seat belts

Depends where you are going but don't assume there will be a 3 point belt. A 4yo would be allocated a seat.

Ok, so no car seat and just use a belt.
