Ventura - what's the crack with food

I'm so confused. We have chosen select dining and chosen the later eating time.

What I don't understand is, there are other restaurants which we'd need to book on the personaliser.

What are the cover charges? And do we pay for the meals on top of these?

If we choose not to use these restaurants, what can we expect?

You can either pick freedom dining, where you can eat in the main dining room at anytime at a table size of your choice. If the dining room is busy you are given a pager so you can have a drink until your table is running. Alternatively you can pick early or late dining in another dining room. You eat at the same time each evening, possibly a larger table with the same people each night. That is often referred to as Club dining. The only issue with the second sitting is that you may miss shows in the theatre. The same menu is available in the main dining rooms each night regardless of whether you have freedom or club dining.

There is a kid's tea in the buffet if 8.30 is too late for them to eat and the kid's clubs run all evening. There is also a pizza outlet and burger grill on the same day open throughout the day.

The buffet is open from first thing until late at night. You can eat there if you don't want a 3 or 4 course meal in the main dining rooms or don't fancy wearing a posh frock on formal night. The buffet tends to have themes each evening (Indian, Mexican etc) as well as snacks. It's essentially eat as much as you like throughout the day from traditional pies, chillies, pasta with special diets all catered for.

The specialist restaurants have a cover charge for Sindhu, The Glass House, The Beach House and Epicurian. These are Select dining. You book each one via cruise personaliser or on board. Sample menus for the Select restaurants and the main dining rooms are all on the website.

The cover charges for select dining are typically £15- £25 per person, with supplements on some dishes. I think we paid about £5 for hot rocks fillet steak each plus the cover charge in the Beach House on Britannia in the summer.

You won’t miss the theatre.
8.30 for early sitting, repeated at 10.30 for second sitting .

Thank you doe the replies. I did more research and I think there are 3 main restaurants where we have the 8.30 dinner booked. (It's the same food to choose from)

You will be allocated your restaurant as two are for freedom dining and one for club with fixed sittings. My personal preference is freedom as I like the flexibility. You can change what you've booked if you have a select fare.

Ah ok, I might change actually because what if it's a rubbish seat. Or you're sat near some weird people (I doubt both of these lol but you never know)

There is a risk with club dining that you get put on a bigger table & have to eat with the same people each night. We've always had a table for 2 with freedom.
