Hi everyone,
Christmas skiing for mixed age groups, DH,Myself 3 DC 22,12 and 2. Been to Tigne & Courshavel which we loved, Lech was a bit too quiet. We are looking to try somewhere different with the best snow possibility Christmas week. Did North America last Christmas but would rather stay in Europe.

Ability wise we have two advanced and 2 intermediate. please share ideas..

Please help

Val Thorens
Tignes
Cervinia

I’d go high, snow can be an issue in Europe. Personally don’t think you can beat Whistler, but if it’s Europe I’d go to the above, or Solden, obergurgle (sp?) at a push.

Snow is unpredictable but snow making is amazing - a couple of years ago there was little natural snow but we still managed a week of 30/40km per day on artificial without any boredom!

Thank you, I will look at the accommodation options

We went to Val Thorens in January with dc then 16, 14, 11 and 8. Really liked the resort for all of us and would go back. We went catered chalet so either had to catch a bus or walk approx 300m but if we’d gone self catering, we could have been in ski in/ski out apartments.

Transfer from Geneva was much shorter than other resorts we’ve been to which is always a bonus!!

If artificial snow is everywhere I personally find conditions are generally shit. It’s not the same as good snow and for me a big compromise. I’d rather go high and have the real thing that isn’t slush by lunchtime

The artificial snow in the sella Ronda is brilliant - you can tell the difference but it is absolutely fine to ski on! Can look a bit bonkers though!!!
