Where in Canary Islands?

Hi all,

Where to go in Canary Islands for a quiet beach holiday? Resort recommendations welcome. we’d like to do :

  1. Whale/dolphin watching (trips)
  2. Snorkelling
  3. Preferably Eat out - so need some good restaurants nearby or all inclusive (We are vegetarian).

Is south Tenerife the only option?

lanzarote - puerto del carmen old town or playa blanca; or port de mogan gran canaria. though havent seen dolphins at either and dont dive so not sure about that....though have seen lots of divers at puerto del carmen - so guessing it must be ok.

not sure what you call quiet......there are lots of bars and restaurants but no drunk yobs or strippers etc. puerto - lots of people slag off but we quite like it

puerto calero is just down from del carmen.....sailing marina if you like it a bit quieter/posher. but there are no beaches there....u would have to walk/drive/bus to del carmen

Los Gigantes in Tenerife. Ticks all your boxes and it’s nowhere near as rowdy as the bigger tourist resorts

Mogan in gran canaria is gorgeous and quiet but not sure about snorkelling. Highly recommend Cordial Mogan Playa. Costa Teguise in Tenerife is good for snorkelling.

Another vote for Lanzarote. There are a couple of lovely resorts there which tick all your boxes

We stayed in Arrieta in Lanzarote many years ago and loved it so much we went back 6 months later.

Fuerteventura Carralejo Hotel Avanti.

Right in front of one of the many beaches lots of restaurants bars etc
Many trips to see Dolfins Snorkel ferry across to Lanzarote, the beautiful sand dunes and beaches is amazing.

We went in June this year returning next year.

The marina area in Playa Blanca is very attractive, and the Jardines del Sol resort is exceptional, although a short taxi/car drive away.

The Avanti boutique hotel mentioned above is nice, we stayed at it’s sister Katis boutique villas, which are heavenly, and because we had to change villas due to reasons beyond their control, they treated us to breakfast in the hotel all week. Lovely lovely people and amazing villas.

Views from Corralejo over to Lanzarote are stunning, and you can catch a ferry for the short trip over.

What time of year? Some places I'd happily go in winter and others I would only go in summer because of wind and unreliable weather.
