I can't look anymore - it's too confusing!! Budget is £1500 pp max. No children so don't need facilities for children and would prefer more grown up type hotel (not necessarily lots of activities) if you know what I mean. And not enormous with thousands of rooms! Been looking at Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Costa Rica, etc but open to other suggestions if anyone can recommend anywhere specifically that they've stayed. Also don't know good and bad places to stay in any of these areas (without doing lots of research - so hoping you lot can help). Thanks.

Hi Fedupandnogin,
Depends on when you're going.
If you're happy to do the 10-12 hour flights, the Dominican Republic and Mexico are possible around that budget. Cuba and Costa Rica are possible on a beach type holiday but not if you want to tour the country.
You can find a good choice of hotels in Cancun, Mexico and also Punta Cana in Dominican Republic. What type of holiday are you looking for?
One that you can kick back on the beach, a culture vulture or a combination?
If you let us know when you intend to travel, I'm happy to offer some alternatives to the ones you've picked out.
Best!

Have a look at Antigua....gorgeous island with some amazing beaches
We've stayed at Pineapple beach club...AI with an incredible beach, not huge hotel and it's now adults only
