Paris - have you been recently (and alone?)

Considering a couple of nights there as the coach is so cheap!

I don't have many interests, I mostly just like going for coffee, eating (though not in proper restaurants when alone as I do feel silly), wandering, taking photos etc.

What's it like compared to London in terms of size, navigating etc? I've been to London loads but without the satnav on my phone I'd be lost every 2 minutes!

Would you recommend any hostels in the city centre or any other budget options?

Plus anything else you can recommend.

Thanks! :)

Just done 3nts 4days on my own in an Airbnb.. lovely city. Enjoyed a free walking tours tip at end ...A lovely night cruise from the effiel tower .. if u want to book to go to the top of the effiel tower book direct on phone as no upgrades available from 1st floor ..
Lovely city i dined in to save money as I hate eating out alone.. I used the tube a lot .Managed to do most things I wanted to. Notre dame early morning before the crowds was lovely...
I pre-booked tickets to avoid the queues..

My stepdaughter did this in may for her birthday. She had a grand time. I was concerned about her safety and just told her to be careful!!

For some reason Paris gets a bad rep, maybe it's due to people expecting a fairytale disneyland rather than an actual large working multicultural city.

Paris is one of my favourite places on Earth, particularly in the Summer, I normally stay in montmartre as it's close to the city centre but full of budget options and lots to do in that neighbourhood itself, Sacre Coeur, moulin rouge etc.
Personally I think doing an audio tour of the Paris opera house is a must, along with a visit to Versailles, and Giverny to see Monet's waterlillies (in spring/summer)
