Has anyone been to Brno in Czech Republic?

Got the chance to go to Brno for a few days with no children in a couple of weeks. [supressed glee]

All very last minute - going to a wedding in a town about an hour away.

Has anyone been, any recommendations for hotels or things to see?

Um, my au pair was from Brno.

She was the most beautiful person ever - so advice would be lock uo your dh!

No. But I could call her and ask her what Brno is like and see if she's up for it now I'm not her boss.

Well while you're setting up your trist, can you ask her to recommend a nice hotel?

Eating crap there is generally ok then Fio?

Well i'm very disappointed in the general lack of information on this matter. Thought some of you cosmopolitan jet setting interesting types might have some priceless advice. {apart from the obviously very helpful stuff about crap and lookers}

I used to live near Brno as a child, so can't comment on the touristy sights, but it is a lovely small town with historic centre. I had a look at some hotels, this site should be helpful:
