Dubai in January - Hotel recommendations?

Welshcake77 · 30/10/2018 05:56

We are thinking of going to Dubai for a week-10 days in early January. DH, 2 DDs who are 6 and 2. We just want a bit of sunshine and to see something totally different.
I don’t know where to start with hotels though! There’s just so many...can anyone recommend a great hotel for families?
And if anyone else has been in january, what temperature should we realistically expect?
Thanks!

Jumeirah Dar al Masyaf/Beach Club
Bab Al Shams (desert)

January is warm in the day (warm enough to swim), but cool at night.

Bit of a how long is a piece of string question.

Do you want to stay on the Palm? In the marina? What do you want to see? Budget? Basic hotel? Beach resort?

Fairmont on the Palm is good, as is the Anantara on the Palm - both good if you’re just after some relaxing by the pool. If you wanted more budget friendly then look at RAK, about an hour away up the coast and a lot more reasonable.

If you want to get out and about a bit more Jumeirah Beach Hotel?

Hilton JBR has some great deals & a great location too.

Sofitel on the Palm is my favourite with kids.

Wow thanks for all the quick replies! @EdisonLightBulb that’s a good point! I first thought the Palm would be best, but now wondering whether the Marina would be better with kids as can get out and walk around, get to more attractions quicker?
If you have any opinions on which would be better, very happy to hear them Smile
Re budget, we have been looking at 4-5 star hotels. Thinking about it, doesn’t have to be a beach resort would prefer nice pools for the kids and maybe close to a public beach or family friendly beach club?

Jumeriah Beach Hotel - kids clubs and free access to wild wadi

We stayed at Anantara on the Palm two years ago and whilst the hotel was lovely, it was a right drag to get out of there. We've stayed in the Marina before and it's much better location. You can easily walk to restaurants, some shops and just hand out at the Walk and people watch.
