Croatia holiday - flying to Split. Which island would you recommend?

Has anyone been to the islands traveling from Split? Korcula or Brac or somewhere else?

We'll be staying on the island for 5 nights after spending some time in Split. We'd like to be somewhere we can mostly relax and enjoy the beach with somewhere small to walk out to in the evening and have some food or a drink. We are a family of 4 with two teenagers. Where would you recommend?

We did a similar holiday this year. Split is great - an interesting historical walking city. Easy to get boats to other islands (we booked in advance- but could get tickets when there probably)
Korcula - small island and main town- lots of restaurants. Beach is small (and stoney) we took out teens on a beach buggy tour - that was fun!
Hvar- more upmarket- clubbing etc. Beaches not so good and felt a bit old for it all.
Brac- we stayed in Bol (ferry from Split) and really liked it. Great beach and some teen stuff to do .
Croatia is great. Easy to travel and good mix of things to do.
Do they watch Game of Thrones? Lots filmed in Dubrovnik which my DH and eldest son loved.

Thanks Curls. That's really helpful. How much were you paying for meals on Korcula? How much were drinks?

I've been to Croatia (Istria area) before when my DC were young and we didn't mind the stony beaches. The crystal clear calm water more than makes up for it.

It's not cheap! We were paying about the same as meals out in the UK. Drinks a little cheaper- but soft drinks for teens still pricy.
You're right about the sea- absolutely beautiful so clear and refreshing.
We did airbnb and toured the islands by ferry over 2 weeks. It was good fun!

Hvar, Stari grad side.
We flew in on the seaplane - expensive but worth every second
and then got the ferry back
we did Airbnb
make sure you get a place with aircon
