Drusillias is fab and only 15 miles or so from Brighton. The sealife centre is good on Brighton seafront also the funfair on the pier [http://www.visitbrighton.com/bs/thedms.asp?dms=5&campai gn=85&param1=Kids%20Go%20Free%20Offers kids go free offers]

just up the road from drusis middle farm - google it. i have heard they have farm animals and child friendly things i most certianly wouldnt be interested in /

as has been said its a piss ant drive away from brighton, is wonderufl hotels, restaurrants and shopping - whcih is always appealing.

also not too far a drive away from hastings from drusillas - thers loads of 1066 shit, lifts and arrow arrrgh shitgoing on.

The Bluebell Railway
Bodiam Castle
Beachy Head
Take the kids' swimming stuff to drusilla's because there is a (small) splash pool which makes a nice break.

Cammelia · 17/06/2007 18:20

Its also very near Eastbourne, you could go to the beach

Spider · 17/06/2007 18:25

The Long Man of Wilmington is next to it. Middle Farm is just a couple of miles away. It's OK. Mainly birds but has a great shop.

Drusillas is great for the first bit ... but bring a picnic as the food at the end is atrocious. Burgers, Mac Chips and stuff.

Cammelia · 17/06/2007 18:26

It's nowhere near Bodiam castle.

It is quite near Pevensey castle though.

PestoMonster · 17/06/2007 18:42

Seven sisters country park is nice if you fancy a nice walk/cycle to the beach. Beautiful scenery.

ChippyMinton · 17/06/2007 21:23

Bodiam is only 30 miles from Eastbourne, not too far for a day trip IMO. And it is a fab castle

Cammelia · 18/06/2007 11:14

Do you live down these parts Chippy?

PestoMonster · 18/06/2007 11:17

There's a nice miniature railway place on the outskirts of Eastbourne too. Just look for the brown signs. It is pretty low-key, but pleasant with a maze, playground and of course train rides.

ChippyMinton · 18/06/2007 11:28

No, cammelia, do you?

bakedpotato · 18/06/2007 11:31

sometime in august there is a brill airshow at Eastbourne, 'Airbourne' it is called

it's free, you sit on the beach eating fish and chips and watching the red arrows and spitfires
