What happens if you can't book seats?

Booking a Jet2 flight and the only seats offered are emergency exit ones that you have to be over 14 to site in. DC are 2 and 4 so I can't prebook them. What happens in that case? I'm assuming they won't split us up with DC so young and no possibility to book seats available. There's nothing on the FAQ.

They will allocate your seats when you check in. They don’t have to seat all 4 of you together but do have to seat an adult with each child. However, this doesn’t mean they have any obligation to seat an adult next to a child; it can mean across the aisle or row in front/behind. Hopefully you will get seats allocated together. If not then ask other passengers politely if they wouldn’t mind swapping when you board. As long as you offer an equal or better seat e.g. don’t ask someone to give up an aisle for a middle, then I’m sure whoever it is will take you up on the offer not to sit next to your unsupervised toddler!

Jet2 are generally very good about seating people together

We had this recently with Jet 2 as i had to change the flight date a week before we were due to depart. Like you i had DC under 14 so couldn't book the emergency exit seats.

I phoned them and was told to check in early at the airport as it was just the online seat allocations that were full. When we checked in at the airport we were give 4 seats together.
