Cancelled flight

Our Flight was cancelled last week due to a problem with the plane at the last minute. We were delayed for over 24hours - are we entitled to any compensation (mid haul distance)? It was a package holiday. If we are do I claim directly to the travel company or do I go via our travel insurance?

Thanks for your advice x

It depends on why it was cancelled.

Yes, you're covered by the EU regulation. The travel company should have a form for you to fill out easily available on their website or on contact with them.

You can go through Resolver. It makes the whole process really easy and includes a template for you to use. It’s free as well. I’ve just had confirmation of my third lot of compensation in the last 18 months (I have VERY bad luck with flights!) and each time have used Resolver to file a claim.
