Croatia again!

We are looking at Croatia for next summer.
We wanted some sort of self catering with pool but walking distance to nice town for restaurants etc
Villas pretty pricey! And quite remote
Have also been looking at some of the campsites but again not many are walking distance.
Anyone got any useful info?!!

I saw the thread title and thought "Hvar"! It's a short ferry ride from Split - and the ferry port is fairly close to Split airport. We self catered in a village called Vrbanj - it was lovely. I'd go back like a shot.

Bumping. Did you get booked in Croatia lOP and how old are your children or other peoples children who are recommending it/have enjoyed these types of holidays please? I will have a 14 year old and a 15 year old Boy and a Girl but most hotels seem to only cater for one child or two very young children. Thanks
