Gite Criteria For Dordogne Holiday....

Please have a quick look at the list of 'have to have' for our 2 week holiday in the Dordogne next summer.

I've been going around in circles not ticking all the boxes - have to please my parents as well as ourselves!

1.Fenced swimming pool
2.Around Sarlat (within 30mins)
3 3 x bedrooms
4.Not more than £900 a week.
5.Very close to a local shop

I have looked at older threads but I've looked at all the websites and still can't find the perfect house.
Wondered if anyone had stayed nearby recently? Thanks.

Any reason near Sarlat?

luciemule · 15/06/2007 23:12

just because we've loved that area in the past, although I did find a gorgeous house with indoor pool today in Monpzier but my parents said why would want an indoor pool in the Dordogne?! We asked them if they want to join us in the 2nd week but now - they're stipulating all these things they want or don't want.

There's lots to do in the Sarlat area and I just love all the old bastide towns and pretty buildings. Plus, DH wants the hot weather otherwise I'd have been happy going to Brittany!

Search on www.gites-de-france.com. Several coming up in the area with pools (I thought all French ones have to be fenced now?), 3 bedrooms and under budget.

Have you looked at properties on [[http://www.cheznous.com/ Chez Nous}]?

Lilymaid · 16/06/2007 13:44

To get link right Chez Nous

Thanks guys - I'd already looked at VillaKarli on another thread but we don't really want to be any further south than the Dordogne - I don't fly so that's not an option but thank you for the info anyway.
I might try gites-de-france.fr which someone said is better than .com so I'll see.

The gites de france website is the same whether you use .com or .fr

yes Lapsedrunner - tried .fr and it switched to .com.
Thanks Aznerak - will keep it in mind. DH is set on area around Sarlat though.
