We're coming back to the UK for 12 days in August and my mum has offered to have the childre for us overnight!!! We will be in Wiltshire and will have a car but don't want to spend most of our time away travelling.

Ideas so far have included getting the train into London, going to Bath or Bristol. Anyone know any special hotels or places we could go?

go to london and see a show? Thats what dp and I did last time we were in London alone. Then a walk along the river and across the millenium bridge. Was rather romantic.

Hotel du Vin in Bristol? I wouldn't bother with the hassle of getting to London when what you probably want is a lovely hotel, great food and a lie in.

HDV in Bristol is walking distance of Broadmead, which isn't pretty but does have M&S and other large dept stores.

WideWebWitch · 15/06/2007 16:42

Or there's Cribbs on the M5

McDreamy · 15/06/2007 16:45

Yes we will be going to Cribbs whatever happens Thinking Bath Spa might be nice as it has a spa and we could have some treatments
