try shouting "ENID / PPH" in Chat.

Enid · 18/06/2007 12:52

oh dear, sorry i ditn see this! did you go?

The best childfriendly pub is the Queens Arms at Corton denham

Sherborne itself is pretty child unfriendly being populated mainly by very old and reactionary people . Pretty though.

Enid · 18/06/2007 12:53

Queens Arms

about 10 mins outside of Sherborne

milfAKAmonkeymonkeymoomoo · 18/06/2007 19:20

I grew up near Sherborne and love it, such a pretty place but agree with Enid in that it is Gods Waiting Room.

yes I try to avoid diva I must say they do have some nice things in there.

we have a fat face now (where the health food shop used to be)

Enid · 19/06/2007 10:22

The dds prefer Olivers to the pear tree now so thats whwere we go (something to do with the mars bar crunch cake )

Heathcliffscathy · 19/06/2007 10:24

DIGBY TAP OF COURSE!!!

best toasties in the land, outside table and ale to die for.

pear tree is overrated and full of OAPs but your only other option really.

I MISS SHERBORNE so badly.

Enid · 19/06/2007 10:28

Olivers is the best cafe

Enid · 19/06/2007 10:28

olivers started in ummmmmm 1985 to my memory

ooh we were so excited to have a new tea place in town

sorry didn't see this earlier, was abroad

DelGirl · 20/06/2007 21:24

hello, yes I did go on Saturday. I think we tried to get into the deli but it was full. We ended up in a pub, memory is tragic and I can't remember. A bit of an upmarket brewer's iykwim. Then we had tea in a cafe which looked great. It had long tables in it. Looked the part with lots of nice 'home made cakes' etc. I'm certain my cheesecake was out of a packet though and dd's fairycake was too I suspect . Never mind. I thought it was lovely place though we didn't spend ages there. We drove to Shaftesbury then Salisbury. Great views from the hill at Shaftesbury. Thanks for the tips, will keep them in mind for next time.
