Has anyone travelled from London to Colchester for the day? How was the journey with little one

Hi. I need to travel over to Colchester with my toddler, it’s basically an hour on bus to central London train station the about an hour on train.

Was wondering how other have done this journey and how you found it? We will be getting train from Liverpool Street station, is that station buggy friendly? Tbh over the years I’ve not used that station much so unfamiliar with station layout.

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

A very nervous Jedimastermama

There are lifts available to get down onto the main concourse from the street at the Broad Street Entrance. There are accessible toilets and baby changing facilities next to the ticket office on the concourse.
Regarding getting the pushchair onto the train, I've normally had people offer to help. You can also ask the guard or ticket inspector if they'll help, they normally will. Also, look out for the door with the wheelchair badge on it as this is the carriage where there's normally space to leave the buggy up, as long as there's not a wheelchair user in the space already.

Thank you for your reply Ricekrispie22.
I’ll probably be fine, I’m just overthinking the journey.

Thanks again

It will be fine, I get this route daily. Once you are at Liverpool Street the overhead lines to Colchester are stair free to access Colchester has a lift on the platform x
