Picking up from Gatwick

Has anyone used the long stay carparks when picking someone up from Gatwick? On the website they claim 2 hours free parking in both long stays when collecting someone but nothing else about it. Do you just turn up or is there some hidden booking system on their website somewhere? Did anyone try it and it worked, or has anyone tried it and been stung for parking charges?

I prefer using the long stay parking at the airport hotels (and then bussing it to the airport) as they’re cheaper and tend to be more flexible.

I've done it once. Last year I think. It was fine. If I remember correctly, i just turned up.

Park in Horley in Waitrose or at the big Tesco at Hookwood then your passengers phone you when they are at down stairs pick up and you go fetch them.
