Hi! Hoping you can help - just booked a trip for myself, husband and DS to go to Spain next week - last min impulse after spotting a real bargain... anyways I'm now in a panic about a pushchair. I have a very expensive travel system - can I take this? Should I - or will it get damaged? Also would you bring a car seat? Does this get checked in or do I take it on the plane? Hoping for some advise from those of you that have travelled with very young ones! Thanks in advance x

I would try to borrow a cheap buggy rather than taking an expensive one, they do tend to sling things around a bit at the airport.

I have always taken a buggy and car seat, you can check the car set on and take the buggy to the boarding gate.

Maybe wrap in bubble wrap?

I think your best option could be to pack the buggy (and car seat if needed) extremely well to avoid damage, drop it at bag drop and take baby through the airport in a sling. Or get a lightweight stroller but it would need to have some sort of newborn insert and lie flat. Personally I’ve done the gate check thing with a big pram once and it was fine but I have heard a lot of tales of damage. We now have the babyzen YoYo which is brilliant but it’s a costly investment!
