I've just booked three nights for me and DH in May in Barcelona for his 40th. We are staying centrally, in the day I would like to maybe hire bikes and potter about, Sagrada Familia... etc. Does anyone have any tips for evening cocktails, rooftop bars, restaurants? This will be our first trip away since having kids and it will be so exciting to have a big city to explore with no curfew!

We were there last weekend. Highly recommend Strawberry Walking Tours - free tour, you just tip what you think the guide is worth. The evening Tapas Tour was great fun. We had dinner in Rao raobcn.com/ which was amazing. There is a lovely roof top bar on the Museum of Catalan History with a view over the port. These days you need to pre-book everything if you don't want to stand in a huge queue ie Sagrada Familia/Park Guell/Gaudi buildings. We had a marvellous time.
