Gatwick to Newquay flights

And vice versa. How long are you kept hanging around at airports for? I know the flight itself is just over an hour, but I'm wondering if all the waiting cancels out the benefit that you might otherwise get from not driving/training instead. It would be a fairly regular thing, about once a month, for work.

I've done this route loads, but not on a monthly basis. But way, way easier than driving or getting the train from London.

I live near Newquay and DH works in London Mon-Fri. He flies there and trains back, just due to timing. As long as you don’t check in luggage and have already checked in you can get there about 90 mins before departure. Straight out at Newquay, again as long as only hand luggage.

Thanks! How 'straight out' is 'straight out' for Newquay? I mean say a flight is scheduled to depart at 11, what time should you rock up through the airport door? Also, how long does it take to fight your way out of Gatwick, from the scheduled landing time to climbing into your car in the carpark? This is assuming you have hand luggage only.

Another silly question - I've previously suffered terrible ear pain when flying internationally. Am I less likely to get this on internal flights? I guess it's worse with altitude and internal flights are lower, or is that a daft assumption?
