We will be going air bnb. With 12 and 10 year old so not too remote but with nice beaches and a few places to eat etc.

Korcula is lovely.

Croatia is beautiful but there are not really any sandy beaches. We had a great holiday this year - a few days in Split (from there we did white water rafting and zip wiring at nearby Omis), a few days in Korcula island (we mainly relaxed there, staying at a hotel with its own 'beach' with paddle boards etc), and then a few days in Dubrovnik which is really the highlight.

I should add that though there are no sandy beaches, the water is just fab - so clean, and the perfect temperature. So all water activities are lovely.

Trogir old town is gorgeous. Lots of restaurants and ferry transport available to lots of other places.

We want to tour for 3 weeks in June starting and/or ending in Dubrovnik. Suggestions please.

Croatia is gorgeous.

I like POREC. It has a lovely harbour, with shops, market stalls and cafes/bars etc. There is also a little tourist train thing that goes through a very pretty wooded area (we saw black squirrels and lots of birds), alongside the man-made beach.

Dubrovnik is nice, but gets very busy with tourists - the cruise ships disembark there. The buses get packed, and everyone surges forward to get on. Nobody queues. There are cable cars, loads of shops up little cobbled streets. Cafes, bars, etc.aplenty.

The view of the wooded area from our hotel. (Valamar Crystal)

The island of Kolocep is a 30 minute ferry ride £3 from Dubrovnik and is paradise.

It has a beautiful sandy beach, lovely walks and views to die for. We stayed:

I would go back in a heartbeat. Kolocep is a great base for exploring the other islands and Dubrovnik itself.
