Japan anyone?

DH has a significant birthday next year and I was thinking of booking him a cruise (his first) to Japan (which is somewhere he is keen to go).

Has anyone done a Japan cruise? What was it like?

Thanks!

My parents did a leg of the world cruise a couple of years ago, flew to NZ the. Cruised to Oz, up east coast and up round japan. They LOVED it and had amazing photos!

Hi Paap1975, If DH is keen on Japan, there are three amazing options I would recommend:
1 - A 10 day fly / tour of Japan that includes Tokyo, Takayama, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka ( I can give you a detailed itinerary if that helps,
2 - A 14 day cruise of Japan that includes Tokyo, Mt Fuji, Kobe, Kochi, Hiroshima, Busan, Aomori and back to Tokyo. This is avalable in either April or November 2019.

  1. A 14 night cruise that includes China, Japan and South Korea - all with spectacular excursions that take your breath away. I can help you plan a detailed itinerary if you'd like me to. Smile.

Thanks Chris. I'm quite drawn to the 14 day Japan and April wouldn't work. But please don't go to too much trouble. It's only one of many ideas so far.

Hi paap1975, A little left field, but yesterday I met with a partner who does organised tours of North Korea!!!!! It's supposed to be spectacular and a real challenge to so many of the things we take for granted. But it is slowly opening up and the facilities are surprisingly good despite the economic hardships. If you've been to Cuba, you'd know what I mean.
Anyway, best of luck with the ideas! Smile.

We haven't yet but are booked on a Japan cruise with HAL next summer, plus have some land time pre-cruise. We're planning more details over the coming months.

I know summer isn't the best time to visit, spring is, but summer is the only time we could make. Seems HAL and Princess are the main lines sailing in the summer, Celebrity is also there earlier in the year.
