Be careful if you buy a refurbished handset from 3 mobile phones

I bought a refurbished one last october from a 3 shop and as a result should have had half price line rental for 18 months. However, they are now charging me full wack after just 6 months. They claim that I was given a new handset. Despite having brought my receipt which states that it is a refurbished handset to the 3 shop a few weeks ago and the manager emailing customer services to say please put me on the correct contract they refuse to acknowledge the email as proof that the handset is refurbished. The manager of the 3 shop is never there when I call, funny that eh!

3 make me so mad.... my DH left them last july and they are still chasing him for £50... when he asks what for...they say that cos his acct is closed cannot show him calculations...then when he tries to explain that he needs to know why he is being billed ...nearly 1 year after...the call centre employee fails to understand his english. We tried emailing- but they replied by phine- yet another conversation where my husband struggled to be understood.

so now we feel like just paying it- but what if they decide next year to bill him again....

clutterjunkie be very careful. 3 continued to charge us line rental after a) the contract had expired and b) we'd written to them. They conveniently "didn't receive" the letter. I refused to pay the £48 and got hassled by debt collectors and threatened with a CCJ. Luckily the shop we'd got the phone from refunded the £48 back to me.

Like you I tried writing and emailing but the response is always by phone from someone with a very poor command of English.

My DH stupidly took out a second contract with them with 1/2 price line rental for 6 months. We were supposed to be able to reduce the tariff after 9 months but apparently the rules have changed in the meantime so we are stuck paying for a service he hardly uses until November. To reduce now you have to pay a charge of £25 per month on top of the rental!

I will never ever use 3 again.

thanks even hope....i will show your message to my DH

this all started when the shop 'failed' to cancel his contract when he started another...they then 'sorted it out' last september- then out the blue this demand for £49 arrives.
