Hi all, just looking for some recommendations for a Eurocamp type site near St Malo.

We've never been before, there'll be five of us: Me, DH, DS1 who will be 13, DS2 who will be 11 and DD1 who will be 3. We're planning on taking our own car and we're a bit nervous about driving in France, so would prefer somewhere no more than a couple of hours from the port.

Not hugely fussy as to be honest we're mainly looking for nice pools, close (no more than 30 mins drive) to a beach which will be clean and family friendly.

I've had a look at Eurocamp Dormaines Des Ormes and Yelloh Camping Les Iles... Has anyone been to either of these and can give me a review? Or is there somewhere else that's even better you'd suggest?!

Booking holidays is such a minefield! It's a lot of money for us, and I don't want to end up somewhere horrible :( Thanks in advance!

Eurocamp is brilliant. We've used them a lot. L'atlantique at Beg
Meil is very big and very good and about 2 hours from Roscoff a bit more from St Malo. We usually use Caen though which is slightly longer drive.

Personally I would go a bit further though to La Foret-Fouesnant which is near Concarneau and has lots of campsites. Really lovely area. TBH any Eurocamp site is likely to be good as are Yelloh. Just avoid those with the site spread across a road.

Driving in France isn't hard once you remember which side of the road! The ferry company usually give you a little sticker for your windscreen. I actually prefer it to driving in UK

Tbh they are all pretty good. Canvas, vacancesoleil , siblu, suncamp , there are loads. We used Eurocamp most often but would check prices against venue holidays too. There were often £100s difference between companies for the same sire. There was an Irish company we used that seemed to have slightly older tents that charged about £200 a week less consistently. This was pre set up tents. We used a mobile Home once when I had just had an operation and they were fab too I think that was carisma. Do enjoy it, Brittany is lovely. Once the kids were older we ventured further down to the vender and then the west coast for surfing. It's. A lovely holiday and we have made many friends we still keep in touch with from campsites!
