Hoping to do this in the next couple of months with 10yo DD & niece. Has anyone ever travelled from Heathrow? We’re flying from NI & had planned to travel from Luton, but flight times done give us much time!! Any tips?

I was also planning to do this with my kids. I hope you can also give us some tips after your travel.

They’ll love it.
I went there as a teenager for a whole day once. We especially loved riding the broomstick and looking at the scenery too. If you have time do try the Butterbear and don’t forget to ask the staff some questions as well.
Also I recommend taking your time and looking at the exhibits. We didn’t have enough time but I wanted to try riding the train. Allow enough time to get there.
Ensure that you have some money in case you want to buy something at the end. I think that they have a gift shop.
Oh and take lots of good pictures.

How much time will you have? I’d say a minimum of 4 hours

You’ll need at least 4 hours there if you want to make the most of it.
Make sure you book tickets well in advance as it gets very booked up.
If you can go near Christmas (end Nov - Dec) they have all the Christmas decorations up and it feels even more magical.
I’m not exactly sure how you’d get there from LHR. Maybe a tube to a main station and then overground to Watford. Or check out National Express coaches from the LHR bus terminal.
