On the flight yes but not through security. Better to pack them and buy airside(assuming Boots will be open and stocks your brand) or decant enough for the journey into 100ml containers to be placed in clear placcy bag.

I took sealed jars of baby food on european flights without any problems at all - I just showed them to security and explained what they were and they checked the seal had not been tampered with and let me though.

So unless you are flying to the States you will probably be fine, but as LIZS says, maybe make sure you have enough time to buy some more airside just in case.

Thanks, ive tried to ring the airport to check but i cant get through it just cuts off. If they are sealed i cant see why i cant take them on, surely its the same as making them up and tasting them??

They are quiet strict and could make you throw them away tbh.

which airport, have you checked via BAA website ?

fifisworld · 10/06/2007 11:24

Its from newcastle airport, theres a technical error when you ring through and it just says on the websites that liquids are subject to testing.
I'll try that website

They could make you throw them away but I think they do use their discretion a bit. And they seem to be slackening off slightly on recent flights - there was none of that nonsense about clear plastic bags. I took DS's beaker of water through and they let me keep it in my handbag and didn't make me taste it or anything.

could you not buy them the 'other side' for example in boots? after security i mean.... at the air port?

newgirl · 10/06/2007 20:36

prob too late but i had to open my carton the other day so best to buy AFTER security i'm afraid. I had to taste it too!
